How can I write about my strengths when I’m not sure what they are? How can I know what colleges are looking for? What if I don’t like writing? Especially about myself?
Faced with writing a college application essay, high school students often feel paralyzed by questions like these. But even the most hesitant students can ultimately answer the essay’s key question: how have my life experiences sparked the kind of curiosity and drive to learn that will enrich a college community? Mr. Howard’s presentation will outline the five steps of research, planning, brainstorming, writing and revising that will help uncover each student’s answer.
Come join us for this special 40-minute presentation followed by a 20-minute Q&A. Mr. Howard is a Connecticut certified teacher and tutor with nearly 20 years experience. His website is finishlinetutoring.com.
This program is recommended for ages 16 and up. Registration is not required.
