Wednesday marks the 12th Annual World Read Aloud Day, which celebrates the power of reading aloud. This annual celebration was created by the global non-profit Lit World, which works to strengthen kids & communities through the power of stories. This global event (celebrated in 173 countries) is all about bringing people together through stories. If you’re looking for something to do to mark the day, consider the following:
- Grab some new books from one of our local libraries by stopping in or scheduling curbside pickup.
- Sign up for a story time at C.H. Booth Library or attend one online.
- Schedule an in-person shopping appointment at one of our local bookstores like Byrd’s Books (Bethel) or Turning the Page (Monroe)
- Check out the virtual hub of activities on Lit World’s website by clicking here. Resources include live events, virtual read aloud, book lists, and more
