Marisa Su, MD, is a Yale Medicine pediatric orthopedic surgeon who sees patients at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital Pediatric Specialty Centers, including the one on West Putnam in Greenwich. One of the newest pediatric orthopedists with the Children’s Hospital, she specializes in diagnosing a wide range or conditions including newborn babies with hip dysplasia, from diagnosis to treatment. The recipe my mother-in-law makes every Memorial D

The recipe my mother-in-law makes every Memorial Day, and it’s always the first to disappear! Perfect for rainy day dessert! Full recipe below 👇

Batter:
2 cups all-purpose flour | 2 tsp baking powder | ½ tsp salt | ¾ cup sugar | ¼ cup unsalted butter | 1 egg | ½ cup milk | 2½ cups fresh blueberries
Topping:
½ cup sugar | ⅓ cup flour | ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened | ½ tsp cinnamon
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9x9 pan.
2. Mix topping ingredients until crumbly. Set aside.
3. Cream butter and sugar, beat in egg, stir in milk.
4. Fold in dry ingredients, then blueberries.
5. Pour into pan, sprinkle topping over batter.
6. Bake 35–40 min until toothpick comes out clean.
7. Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
