Three New Ways to Shop Once Upon a Child! | Newtown Moms

If you’re stuck at home and feeling like you kids are outgrowing  all their clothes (must be all the snacks you’re preparing) or maybe you need new activities to keep them entertained, Once Upon a Child is here for you.

Last week, I had the opportunity to speak with Diana Maunsell about the changes she has been working on with her team in order to continue to provide clothing, baby gear, games, books, and toys to customers. The team is excited to announce THREE new ways you can shop from the comfort of your home:

  1. Personal shopping sessions will begin on Tuesday 5/5. All you have to do is DM Once Upon a Child on either Instagram or Facebook to schedule a time. A team member will then walk the store with you using FaceTime or Zoom and help you select items. They know the store and their inventory best – so you’re in great hands for scoring whatever you may need!

2. Once Upon a Child is also introducing Mystery Bundles. Surprise and delight your child by ordering one of the mystery bundles by shopping the store’s new website. Bundles have different price points and you can pick between clothes or activity bundles. There’s even an option to send a bundle to someone else. (What a wonderful surprise!) Check out the video below of one of their young customer’s opening his Mystery Bundle.

3. You’re also able to shop OUAC’s Instagram and Facebook feeds. How cool is that?!?! Starting on Wednesday 5/6, DM either page to claim items. You will then receive a PayPal invoice and once you submit your payment, the item is YOURS!

After 20 years in business, Once Upon a Child takes great care in selling items to our community and misses their customers. All orders will be available for free, contactless curbside pick-up. You can also opt to have items shipped to you for a flat fee of $10.

You may be wondering when buying will resume. (I mean we’ve all been cleaning out our closets, playrooms, and basements, right?!). Once they are able to safely open, Once Upon a Child will resume buying within a few days. They will ensure buying is done with as little contact as possible with requiring resellers to go through a mobile sign in process. They want to make it simple for families to recycle what they no longer need and make a little money. More details to follow!

Finally, while they have been closed these past 7 weeks, the team at Once Upon a Child has been busy with diaper donations. They have continued this program (they run it year round) despite closure as it serves those in our local community.  So if you’re like me, and feeling a bit helpless at home and wanting to do some good, consider donating. You can donate extra diapers (the take open packages) or are able to purchase & donate diapers, please consider donating them to OUAC. All pick-up’s are contactless – all you have to do is text 203-808-1014 to arrange a pick-up.
