A Little Elf on the Shelf Inspiration… | Newtown Moms

If you’ve been reading my blog, you might have seen the post The Local Moms Network did with Chandra Bell, one of the creators of The Elf on the Shelf. After reading the interview and thinking about all of the different stories I’ve heard from parents over the years, I thought it would be fun to post a few spots where you can go to get inspiration for your very own elf. Let’s face it, it’s 12/9 and we still have 15 more nights to move that little guy or gal around. Here’s to hoping you remember each night!

Let’s start with the source: The Elf on the Shelf website. The brand’s website is divided into two sections – one for kids and one for grown-ups. Within the grown-up section, there’s a “Elf Ideas” tab, which includes 5 minute ideas.

There are hundred of images on Pinterest to help one out on this 25 day elf journey. Some of my favorites are here, here, and here.

I like this post from The Inspiration Edit that discusses The Elf on the Shelf. Although she doesn’t explicitly say that she uses her letter board with the elf, I do think some of these sayings (or any others you come up with) work for the daily elf move.

Here are some of the best Elf ideas found on Instagram courtesy of This Worthy Life and Buzzfeed.

And if you’re still searching for ideas, check out your Facebook & Instagram for inspiration from other parents!
