Summer is the perfect time to enjoy an outdoor event in CT. And let’s face it, living in the Northeast means it’s really the only time when you’ll find out concerts, plays, and other activities. Today, I’ve rounded up options for our area. So pack a picnic and check out one of these great events. Attending at least one is definitely on my family’s summer bucket list!
Newtown Parks & Rec Summer Concert Series: Beginning on July 9th, Newtown kicks off their summer concert series in Dickinson Park. Tuesday evening feature a kid-friendly show, while Thursday evenings are for all ages. Concerts run every Tuesday & Thursday from 7/9 until 8/15. View our calendar for the full line-up.
Brookfield Farmers’ Market & Summer Concert Series: The Brookfield Farmers’ Market runs every Friday until 10/25 with a concert series through August. Plan a evening trip to the market and then picnic at the bandstand near the town hall. Market runs from 3PM to 6PM with the concert beginning at
Richter Park Summer Theater: Celebrating its 35th season, Musicals at Richter Park is running Monty Python’s Spamalot and Shrek The Musical this season. The theater is open Thursday – Sunday evenings and you are able to bring a picnic. Check out show times on our calendar
Richter Park Children’s Summer Theater at Workspace Education : Saturday mornings are for the little ones! Head over to Workspace Education in Bethel, every Saturday in July for Fairy Tale Theater. Kids do a craft or activity before the show starts at. All details are on our calendar.
Ives Center: Another great summer spot in Danbury is the Ives Center. This year, there are a ton of events going on in this beautiful park on the west side of Danbury. You’ll always find everything on our calendar, but visit their website for all the details. From sunset yoga to comedy shows to concerts, there’s definitely something for everyone this summer.
Danbury Mall Summer Stage: On July 3rd, the Danbury Mall opens their summer stage for 2019. There are a bunch of cover bands performing on Wednesday nights from July 17th through August 7th starting at 6:30PM. Too late for your kiddos? Try their Children’s series on Tuesday mornings at 10:30AM. All showtimes are on our calendar.
Food Truck Fridays: Bethel will run summer concerts on select Friday evenings during the summer. Stop by the Municipal Center lawn to grab something off a local food truck and then enjoy the music as you picnic. All dates are on our calendar.
