If you’ve felt a little confined to the indoors the last couple of days as this summer’s first major heat wave breaks up, fear not, the humidity is decreasing and the weather looks good for next Saturday’s Newtown Day.
Newtown Day is a celebration of our town. Now in its 2nd year, this annual event is put on by the Newtown Chamber of Commerce and Newtown Parks & Recreation with support of numerous businesses in the community. Activities will be running from 11AM to 8PM on Saturday 7/27 for young and old alike, Residents, not just from Newtown, but from the surrounding communities are invited to the Fairfield Hills Campus to enjoy a day of food trucks, live music, family activities, inflatables, and a beer tent (adults only).
My family attended last year (our first year as official Newtown residents) and enjoyed the food trucks, the music, and seeing all of the local businesses transform Fairfield Hills into a fun, energetic town block party. If you’re new to town, considering living in town, or have been living here for years, this event is a great opportunity to connect with the community.

Here’s What You Need to Know:
Event Date: Saturday July 27th from 11AM to 8PM
Location: Fairfield Hills Campus
Admission: $3.00 for ages 12+ (*under 12 is free)
Parking is available on the Fairfield Hills Campus as well as at Reed Intermediate, Newtown Middle School, and Governor’s Horse Guard. Shuttle service available from the Middle School starting at 10:45AM and ending at 8:15PM.
