Changes to the Calendar, Weekend Round-Up Postponed & More | Newtown Moms

One of the things I like doing most for our community here at Newtown Moms is updating and perfecting the monthly calendar. The Weekend Round-Up is my favorite post to create each week because weekends should always equal fun, family time, and some relaxation. As a major type A, who loves detail, the calendar is something I take a lot of pride in and I know it’s something that you all use regularly. Without a doubt, it is the #1 visited page on newtownmoms.com since the site launched last year. With that being said, I wanted to share some updates with you in light of what’s happening with COVID-19. I will continue to do my best to keep our calendar updated and inform you of cancellations, postponements, and changes. But as always, I encourage you to heed the advice of the experts and be mindful with your decisions & take precautions in public places. I am cancelling the weekend round-up for the time being as social distance continues to prove itself to be the best way to contain this virus. I will however, work to bring you additional content for easy ideas to do at home with kids.

Here is what will happen with our calendar for the near future:

  • I will be deleting (or moving) any events that have changed.
  • Anything I find will be shared in my Instagram and Facebook stories. And I’ll do my best to do it as real-time as possible. Well as real-time as a mom with a toddler & baby can do!
  • Anything that happens on a regular weekly basis (examples: library story times, toddler times, open skates, etc) will remain on the calendar. The reason behind this is because I can’t delete just one week. If I delete one week, the entire year deletes and I don’t want to do that!
  • If you decide to venture out, please, please, please check with the location running the event before you go.

Secondly, as you know, Newtown Moms & The Local Moms Network are all about resources and easing parents’ burden by providing you with the information you need. Below, you’ll find some helpful links. I will update this post regularly with information as I find it.
