It’s nice having the extra two days to this weekend, right?!?! Due to the holiday weekend, there’s definitely a lot going on in and around Newtown. In addition, to all these great family activities, there are also a ton of local “Black Friday” or Small Business Saturday deals. I’ll include those at the end for those of us who like to shop!
Family Events:
- The Adopt a Lamppost Decorating event in Sandy Hook is happening on Sunday from 10AM – 12PM. Adoption fees come with roping, a bow, lights, and a customizable gift tag to display. Details are here.
- The friends of the Brookfield Library will be hosting a holiday shopping & mini book sale again this year in the Community Room. Vendors include, Farm to Jar, Neshamah Creations, Tastetfully Simple , and more! The sale goes on from 9AM – 3PM.
- The 3rd annual Holiday Bazaar is happening at Reis Learning Center at 65 Bank Street in New Milford. Handmade and artisan items, wellness products, seasonal gifts, and much more will be available!
- The Greater New Milford Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5:30PM on the Village Green. There will be visits with Santa!!
- The Annual Holiday Light Parade is taking place over in New Fairfield on Saturday with a rain date of Sunday.
- Decorate a Wreath with your family at the Pratt Nature Center over in New Milford. Fee is $25 and happening on Sunday from 10AM – 5PM. Register here.

I recently bought a really cool bar cart from Black Swan Home and I’m so happy I went in there to look because let me tell you it’s way more than just fireplaces. On Friday, they’ll be offering a Buy 3, Get 1 Free deal on Ornaments.
Basil Rose Boutique is offering 20% off the entire store on Small Business Saturday. YES – 20% off. Don’t forget to stop in & check off some of those Holiday gifts.
