It’s that time of year – school registration for rising kindergarteners. And if it’s your first child heading off to school, the registration task itself can sound a bit daunting. Below you will find key dates and links to information on Kindergarten registration for all area towns. Many towns have already had information sessions for parents, but contact information for all area districts is below.
Newtown – Parents should visit here and click on “New Student Registration” to begin the process. After the online forms are completed, contact your child’s school to schedule an in-person appointment and screening during select days in April & May:
Middle Gate School – April 1, 2, & 3
Hawley School – April 8, 9, & 10
Sandy Hook School – April 30, May 1 & 2
Head O’Meadow School – May 7, 8, & 9
Danbury – Registration is open for 2019-2020 in Danbury. The Central Registration Office located at 49 Osborne Street is open daily from 8AM – 3:30PM. The district also offers extend hours on Thursday (4PM to 6:30PM) and Saturday (9AM to 12PM). No appointment necessary, but all registration must be done in person. Visit here for full details.
Bethel – Registration is open! Parents will need to complete an online registration form and will then receive an email prompting them to schedule the in-person portion to complete registration. Details are here. Note: you need to scroll all the way down to get to the 2019-2020 information.
Brookfield – The process starts by completing an online pre-enrollment form found here. There is a list of documents required on the website that will need to be dropped off at Center School in person. The last step is completing set-up in the Power School portal for your child.
New Milford – Complete the online enrollment form found here and bring it to your child’s school. Initial registration dates were at the end of February, however you can still register by following the steps found at the link above.
What you’ll need: The requirements are very similar for all area towns, but make sure to check your district’s website. You’ll need a copy of your child’s birth certificate, immunization records & physical, and at least two proofs of residency.
