Pumpkins are popping up everywhere over the course of the last few weeks. Whether you are looking for a pumpkin patch or a gardening center, pumpkin picking is the perfect activity for cool (or warm) Fall day. Below is a list of local spots selling pumpkins. Please be sure to check each business’ website before heading out for COVID protocols, as well as information on additional activities.

 

Garden Centers

Benedict’s Home & Garden, 480 Purdy Hill Road, Monroe – Pumpkins and Mums are in stock and available. Be sure to check out the Fall Festival that is going on.

 

 

Halas Farm Market, 28 Pembroke Road, Danbury – Pumpkin patch is now open and a special social distance friendly drive through Jack-O-Lantern Lighting happening on 10/30. Details are here.

 

 

Hollandia Nurseries, 2 locations in Bethel – The Old Hawleyville Road location always has an amazing pumpkin display and the store is primarily outside. Don’t forget to stop by the Garden Center on Route 6 for all your fall planting (or decorating) needs.

 

 

Stew Leonard’s,99 Federal Road, Danbury – The Garden Center at Stew’s always has a ton of pumpkins and fall flowers. Great stop to add on to any shopping trip.

 

 

Pumpkin Patches

Blue Jay Orchards, 125 Plumtrees Road, Bethel – Pumpkin patch is open 7 days a week.

 

 

Castle Hill Farm, 1 Sugar Lane, Newtown  – Pumpkin patch opening at the end of the month. Subscribe to their newsletter for latest farm happenings.

 

 

Harris Hill Farm, 106 Ridge Road, New Milford – Open weekends only during October.

 

 

Jones Family Farms, Pumpkinseed Hill Farm, 120 Beardsley Road, Shelton – Pumpkin season begins 9/26 and is open daily.

 

 

March Farm, 160 Munger Lane, Bethlehem – Pick your own pumpkins will begin in late September at the Hilltop Orchard. No bussing from the farm stand due to COVID. The orchard is a short hike, but the terrain is steep and rocky at points – wear comfortable shoes and bring strollers that can handle tougher terrain.
