Summer Events & Activities Round Up! - Newtown Moms

The goal for Newtown Moms is to give you the gift of time by simplifying the planning process. The freedom summer vacation brings, offers an opportunity for our kids to reset & relax. However, it can be stressful for parents to fill the days & keep sibling squabbles at bay, while creating memorable experiences. Below I’ve started a list of some of the highlights on our calendar for the months of June, July, and August. I’ve also added quick lists of places that can provide a special summer adventure or treat. I’ll continue to add events to this list as summer progresses and announcements are made. If you have a favorite event, activity or resource, please email it to [email protected].

New Milford Farmers’ Market, Saturdays on the New Milford Green from 9AM – 12PM
Brookfield Farmers’ Market, Fridays at Town Hall from 3PM – 6PM, opening 6/17
Monroe Farmers’ Market, Fridays on the Monroe Greetn from 3PM – 6PM, opening 6/17
Newtown Farmers’ Market, Tuesdays at Fairfield Hills from 2:30PM – 6:30PM , opening 6/21
CityCenter Danbury Farmers’ Market, Fridays from 9AM to 12PM, opening 6/25

Our local libraries offer a ton of programs during the summer months. I’m pulling together a post on all of the Summer Reading Programs (generally for ages 4+), but for now, here are the links to the calendars for each library:

C.H. Booth Library (Newtown)
Danbury Public Library
Brookfield Public Library
Bethel Public Library
New Fairfield Public Library
Burnham Library (Bridgewater)
Edith Wheeler Library (Monroe)
Mark Twain Library (Redding)
Southbury Public Library

*I try to add as many story times, teen events, and library special events to the calendar each month. So feel free to check that out as well!
