Tomorrow is Election Day, so this is your reminder to make a plan to vote tomorrow. This year, we’re voting to elect, Governor, US Senator, US Representative for the 5th District and many other State & Local officials. There’s a also a question on the ballot on amending the State’s constitution to allow for early voting.
If you live in Newtown, you’ll want to take a close look at the ballot before you go because there are two questions relating to our town charter. You can read more about the reasons for and against removing the Board of Finance here.
Here are a few important things to remember for Election Day:
Voter Registration: Although the deadline was several weeks ago, the State of Connecticut allows qualified individuals to register the day of an election by visiting a designated Election Day Registration (EDR) place.
- In Newtown, you would need to register at the Municipal Building at 3 Primrose Street
- In Danbury, you would visit City Hall at 155 Deer Hill Avenue
- For a town by town list of EDR’s, please visit here.
Polls: Polls are open from 6AM to 8PM tomorrow. Bring a form of ID like a driver’s license with you to vote. Check your polling location here.
Who’s On The Ballot: You can look up your town’s ballot here. Just be sure to know what district your are part of for the State Senatorial and State Assembly elections.
The above information is from CT.gov page for the Secretary of the State.
