Visits with Santa | Newtown Moms

The Monday after Halloween, my oldest came home from Preschool telling me that one of her friend’s was going to see Santa FIRST! I’m not kidding, but they were all talking about Santa nearly two months before Christmas. A visit with Santa is one of the most treasured Holiday traditions for kids of all ages. This year, visits will run differently, but there are many ways for your kids to get their wishes to the big guy in red. Below you’ll find a variety of ideas – some completely virtual and some in-person. Regardless of what your choice is, your little ones will still feel the magic of the season.

Elf Chats (Virtual Event)
As part of the annual Holiday Festival organized by Newtown Youth & Family Services, Elf Chats will take place from the comfort of your home. Get a glimpse inside of Santa’s Workshop, see what our Elf friend is working on, and hear first hand what it’s like to get ready for Christmas. Your 10 minute Elf Chat will be completely personalized. Register here.

Newtown Holiday Lights & Laser Show
This event happening for the first time on December 13, will include a drive through a Winter Wonderland at Fairfield Hills from the comfort of your car. A socially distant visit with Santa, a Laser Light Holiday Show, and performances by “Newtown’s Rockettes” from Lathrop School of Dance, Ashurst Academy of Irish Dance, and Newtown Centre of Classical Ballet and Voice. A drive thru mailbox for Letters to Santa will also be part of the event. Register here.

Danbury Fair Mall
Santa is back at the Center Court in the Danbury Fair Mall for 2020. He is masked and ready to hear your child’s holiday wish list from a safe and socially distant spot. This contact-free has the following COVID protocols in place: masks worn by all (including Santa) over the age of two, hand sanitizer available upon entering & exiting the set, appropriate social distancing at all times, and deep cleaning of the set. Schedule your reservation here.
