Weekend Round-Up 1/18 – 1/20 | Newtown Moms

In case you’re wondering, I too feel like the weather forecast has been messing with my emotions. Will we get snow or what? Regardless of what happens tonight into tomorrow or Saturday into Sunday, here’s a list of fun things happening in our area this weekend. And don’t worry, if things get cancelled due to weather you can see updates on my Instagram Stories.

Friday:
There’s a lot going on at EverWonder Children’s Museum this weekend. Ranger Nate from the Beardsley Zoo will be there on Friday from 10AM to 2PM. That evening, the museum is open until 7 and will be unveiling the new BEAM interactive exhibit. Not a member, that’s ok – the exhibit opens to the public on Saturday.

Music Together of Monroe & Newtown is offering another free demo class for babies under 8 months. Head to their website for more information and to sign up.

Saturday:
The Winters Farmers Market will be open again at Benedict’s Home & Garden in Monroe. Head there any there any time from 10AM – 2PM.

Skate Like A Superhero on Saturday from 12PM – 2PM at the Rinks at Shelton. Go dressed as your favorite superhero.

Attend C.H. Booth LIbrary’s “Bring the Hoopla” event on Saturday afternoon at 2PM. Join in on family hula hoop event!

On Saturday night, the Newtown Education Foundation is hosting an evening of comedy with comedian Alexandria McHale and friends. All tickets include wine, beer, and desserts. Doors open at 7:30PM at Edmond Town Hall. You can purchase tickets here.

Sunday:
On Saturday, a Frozen Skate is happening at the Rinks at Shelton. Spend from 1PM – 3PM skating with Elsa and Olaf from Frozen.

Looking for a unique day date idea? Alicante Bar de Tapas is hosting a Sunday Cooking Class from 12PM to 4PM. Tickets are $60 and give you the chance to learn how to make Mediterranean Pasta Casera.

Kidz Klub at the Danbury Fair Mall is hosting another meet and greet with a character. On Sunday at 3PM, meet Ariel! Details are here.

For the entire weekend, The Connecticut Science Center in Hartford is offering children’s admission prices to all visitors. This is an amazing discount for families! We haven’t had a chance to check out the science center yet, but from what I see on the website, there are tons of fun things to do for kids of all ages. Here are the details on this special offer.
