Weekend Round-Up 2/8 – 2/10 | Newtown Moms

Here are some ideas for happenings in our area this weekend. Enjoy!

Friday

The Danbury, Brookfield, Bethel, and New Milford libraries all have story hours on Friday morning. Check the calendar for details.

EverWonder is hosting a Parents’ Night Out on Friday from 5PM – 8PM. You can drop your child(ren) off during that time and they will enjoy access to the museum, crafts, and a science demo. This is for ages 4+ and the child must be potty trained. Cost is $25/child for members and $35/child for non-members. Each additional child is $10. Register here.

Saturday

The Winter Farmers Market is happening again at Benedict’s Home and Garden over in Monroe. Stop by from 10AM to 2PM and purchase items from local farms, vendors, and artisans.

Brookfield Parks & Rec is running a Valentine’s Day craft. Children ages 3 to Kindergarten will create crafts with a parent or caregiver from 10AM -11AM. For grades 1 – 4, this is a drop off program lasting from 11AM – 12PM. Details are here.

Salome Sports Training, a relatively new spot in Newtown is running a free baseball clinic 4PM – 7PM. This is for ages 8 – 12. Register here.

Sunday

Are you looking for a different yoga experience this weekend? Head to Charter Oak Brewing Company in Danbury and join their Sunday yoga class at 10:30. The $30 ticket includes the class plus a pint of your choice. Click here for details.

At 11AM, BD Provisions is hosting an event with Heather Priest, a personal chef & caterer. Heather will be sharing all the different ways you can spice up a dish. Details here.

Head over to Reed Intermediate School at 12PM, for the Catherine Violet Hubbard Foundation’s “Sunday at the Sanctuary”. This week’s event will include presentations with experts from The Maritime Center & Beardsley Zoo, followed by a guided hike through the Sanctuary. More information here.

Elmo is stopping by Kidz Klub at the Danbury Fair Mall at 3PM on Sunday. Meet the infamous Sesame Street character and enjoy some fun playtime.

On Saturday & Sunday, the Connecticut Kids Fair is happening at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford. There will be all sorts of fun for families. Here are the details.
