If you’re looking to save and stock up on some Back-to-School clothing essentials, this week is the the week to tick off those items on your list. Starting Sunday 8/16 and running through Saturday 8/22, Connecticut will hold its annual Tax Free Week.
During the week, Sales Tax will be exempt from any clothing or shoe items retailing at less than $100 per item. If a single item costs over $100, you will be responsible for sales tax.
Items not included:
- Items like jewelry, handbags, luggage, umbrellas, wallets, watches, etc.
- Any special clothing or footwear used for athletic activity, but not typically worn as clothing (i.e. soccer cleats)
- Safety apparel
