Congratulations! You’ve just about made it to the weekend. With a little over two weeks left until Christmas, this weekend calls for more action packed days filled with friends, family, and local events. If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, here are some ideas:
On Friday evening, the town of Bridgewater is hosting “Holiday on the Green”, which features tons of family activities beginning at 4PM. All the details are here.
For older kids, the Regional YMCA in Brookfield is holding a “Kids Night Out” featuring cookie decorating and an elf hunt. Early registration is required. In Newtown, EverWonder Museum is having a presentation for the whole family on the Solar System.
On Saturday, there are several places where your kids can spot Santa:
BD Provisions in Newtown is having visits with Santa from 8:30AM – 1PM. We stopped by last weekend and it’s a great spot to see Santa since the line is short. Both Stew Leonards and Newtown Parks & Rec are having Breakfasts with Santa on Saturday.
Goatboy’s Soaps in New Milford is holding one of their annual holiday open houses. Everyone is invited to come up, shop, and visit with the goats.
At Quiet Rein Farms in New Milford, you can celebrate the holidays by having your picture taken with the horses. Event includes pony rides, barn tours, and even a sale on lessons. Details are here.
On both Saturday & Sunday, the Brookfield Historical Society is holding their annual Christmas Open House. Event includes Santa, operating model trains, a scavenger hunt, and antique toys on display. Bonus – the event is free!
This weekend my family is checking out an event at the Danbury Railway Museum. We haven’t been there yet, but are excited to take a train ride to Santa’s special railcar. This event is happening on a few other dates, so check out our calendar!
